Director of Sourcing


Our client – a rapidly growing company with whom we have placed other key individuals – is seeking an aggressive, entrepreneurial and analytical Director of Sourcing to assume their overall sourcing strategy (finished goods as well as some raw materials) and manage their sourcing teams both in U.S. and in China!

You will use your Mandarin fluency, your expertise as a master negotiator, your solid background in dual sourcing, cost reduction, vendor management, process improvement, your experience sourcing from both China and the U.S., your ability to implement sustainable change as well as your ability to manage and operate both strategically and tactically as you oversee supplier relationships, visit suppliers both here and abroad, ascertaining the quality of vendors’ products, components and production lines.  

Our ideal candidate is currently a Sourcing Manager, Sourcing Director, Director of Purchasing or a Supply Chain Director, has a strong background in sourcing, has a track record of success in cost management and cost reduction, is a great leader of people (both U.S. and overseas), and has good situational leadership skills. Our ideal candidate also possesses a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and has the talent to break a problem into its component parts, identify what’s going wrong and then make improvements – whether it’s in the shipping, building or production process. Your unique background will make you an integral member of our client’s leadership team! Management experience is critical; degree is very highly preferred, electronics engineering degree a real plus. 35-40% travel, both US and China.
