Our client---an architectural lighting manufacturer with some very high-end projects and boasting a very open culture---is seeking a polished, to-the-point, transparent, direct and professional President to focus on prioritizing their product development process by developing a strategic direction, support the company’s sales efforts by meeting with major customers and improve productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing area!

You will utilize your strong business acumen, your understanding of and experience in the specification market, your celebration of your team’s successes (major or minor) and your ability to look at the ‘big picture’ as you support the sales efforts by meeting with major customers, spend time with the highest priorities that provide the greatest bang for the buck, and make sure that manufacturing is shipping on time and ensure product quality is continually improving.  Our client plans to grow sales aggressively both organically and through acquisitions, so your success in these areas is a real plus.

Our ideal candidate is currently an Executive Vice President, President, General Manager, Chief Operating Officer (or possibly a Vice President of Manufacturing with sales and product development experience) or a Chief Executive Officer of a small company with a good understanding of ‘balance’ from one assembly line to another.  Additionally, our ideal candidate is an honest communicator who can be appropriately blunt, who is able to listen to his/her team, encouraging people to talk and to share new ideas and make everyone at our client feel like they’re a piece of going forward.  You must also be able to hold your sales leaders to their forecasts so that you can plan effectively with your factory!    Must have at least 5-7 years’ experience in the specification market!  Experience with custom products is a real plus, but not essential.  BS/BA Degree is highly preferred (but not essential); 20% travel.
