Our client – a manufacturer of cutting-edge, high-quality, cost-effective, and easy-to-use lighting controls and software – is seeking an entrepreneurial, energetic, scrappy and hands-on Regional Sales Director for the Western U.S. to get our client’s products specified into small and mid-size projects (often buildings of 5 stories or less), create revenue by creating design wins and develop a go-to-market strategy and then execute your plan!  

You will utilize your experience with and knowledge of controls as you take the initiative, identify business opportunities with ESCOs, condos, municipalities, parking garages, warehouses and/or schools, and then assemble and sell the solution and facilitate the install and follow-through to completion, concentrating on small to medium-size buildings (new construction or retrofit projects) where there is no professional energy manager, facilities manager or building manager in place.  You will initially focus on new build or retrofit projects in the $2-10M range and will find that your ability to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and focus on revenue generation is a great asset with the exciting and ground-breaking products our client continues to develop!   California is a key area of activity for our client, and you’ll spend much of your time in LA/Orange County, the Bay Area as well as the Western U.S.  

Our ideal candidate is a Sales Representative, Controls Specialist or Regional Manager with a rep agency, manufacturer or ESCO, has a background in controls working with partner companies and knows control systems enough to ‘talk the talk’ and is currently living in the Los Angeles/Orange County/San Diego area or in Northern California.  Additionally our ideal candidate has worked for a start-up and enjoys the excitement and thrills that come with this environment!   BS/BA Degree preferred (but not critical); 25-40% travel.
