SPECIFICATION SALES MANAGER/REPRESENTATIVE, NEW YORK


 

Our client (a respected manufacturer with a tremendous reputation in the architectural market and whose products are almost all manufactured in the U.S.) is seeking a very collaborative, open-minded, responsive and goal-oriented Specification Sales Manager or Representative to establish relationships with key specifiers in New York City and the surrounding areas in the Northeast and become a valued partner to our client’s rep network, present product and follow up on opportunities!

You will utilize your understanding of the lighting design and/or interior design channel, and your sense of humor as you support our client’s agents and the specification community to get products specified on jobs and then follow up on those jobs, entertain clients, get involved with local and national trade shows, and communicate with principals of agencies to keep them on target with sales goals. Your relationships in New York City will be very important as you launch new products in the market by doing product presentations to agencies and making some calls with agents as well as some solo calls.

Our ideal candidate is currently an energetic, very agent focused Lighting Designer, Interior Designer, Specification Sales Representative, Regional Manager, Applications Engineer or Architect with a strong background in the architectural market (our client is willing to teach lighting) and is someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously and is nimble and open-minded. In addition, our ideal candidate is currently based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or possibly Philadelphia and is someone who wants to work hard to make a difference and wants to advance beyond this position---she/he will have a lot of opportunity to make a very big impact! BS/BA degree is very highly preferred (but not essential); 25% travel.
