Director & General Manager/Lighting
Pompeo Group has recently been retained by a client company [a major player in the ESCO, lighting and electrical spaces with whom we have worked with before] to identify a charismatic, entrepreneurial, analytical, innovative, adaptable, sociable and strategic-thinking Director & General Manager/Lighting to head up all of their lighting operations and scale up the operations side to support their growth in sales.
You will utilize your strong communications skills, your track record of success in a senior sales leadership or senior operations leadership role with an ESCO (or possibly manufacturer or distributor), your knowledge of lighting (fixtures, lamps and/or controls) and your background with a company focused on the national (retail) accounts channel and/or successful track record in turnkey renovation/retrofit as you prepare a 30/60/90 day plan, reach out to our client’s customers to assess how they are performing and identify gaps and start to communicate with your team on how to execute your plan. Your ability to successfully lead remote teams, develop value propositions and strategies, your track record of meeting commitments and your experience working with a sales team will all be beneficial.
Our ideal candidate is currently a Director of Operations, Vice President of Sales [with operations oversight], Vice President of Operations or General Manager, has experience in organizational design and is able to determine what parts of our client’s businesses are profitable and which aren’t and make the necessary adjustments. Our ideal candidate also will make some sales calls on larger customers, so sales experience is an important part of this role! Your ‘management by the numbers’, understanding sales & operational efficiency at all levels and your ability to hold people accountable will contribute to your success in this once-in-a-career opportunity. In addition, our ideal candidate has managed teams of at least 50-100 with a minimum responsibility of $50M P&L. This role oversees over 200 people, most working virtually, so outstanding leadership and management skills are critical. BS degree preferred, MBA or MS a real plus; travel 15-25%, 30-40% first six months [all travel estimates are after travel restrictions are lifted].
