If you want to be successful in business, you keep your word—I don’t care what else you do—but keep your word.

Lighting designers are much smarter than the people who manufacture—listen to what they want.

People want to do business with people who are easy to do business with—nothing’s changed in 100 years.

Don’t be afraid to be an innovator—do not be afraid to be the first.

When you make a mistake or have a bad project, you deal with it immediately.  Never run away from a problem.

You cannot gouge customers just because you are specified.

You must respect your distributors and not go behind their back and sell direct just because a big order is offered to you.

I have learned that the most important thing in life is your family, because after all is said and done, that’s what’s really important.
